   Can you tell me how can I get this effect in VLC? I’ve got 0.9.4 v. and still no ass subs =/ You know, I don’t want to install any nedless codecs - I’ve got only VLC. So what should I do?

   The hiding on pause is a small bug that I just fixed and will be fixed in 0.9.3

   Great. Step in right direction.

   Unfortunately, VLC still hides subtitles on pause what makes it pretty useless for watching anime. And “Pause” still has a very long latency: ~1 second between when I press “Pause” and movie actually pauses. But pausing make no sense anyway - now much improved subtitles would be hidden anyway.

   I’d say now VLC is about 40% ready to be usable for anime what is huge progress (compared to flat 0% before). Still it is not ready to be a replacement for MPC/Haali/DirectVobSub. I guess I’m still stuck on Windows… ;_;

   I was wondering if it was posible if i could have a build that can update itself i sadly have limited bandwith so it is very sad when i have to uninstall and reinstall the player…….so someone please help me:(
